Roanoke River Rails-to-Trails is pleased to announce the opening of Phase III of the Tobacco Heritage Trail. Now there is even more to celebrate on Earth Day! The ribbon cutting will take place on April 22, 11:00am near Evans Creek Rd trailhead in Brodnax, VA.  Following the ribbon cutting will be a reception in Lawrenceville at Elm Acres where Brunswick Stew will be served. The festivities will conclude with the opportunity for walkers, runners, cyclists and equestrians to tour the new trail at 2:00pm. Local civic groups and volunteers will have tables at the Lawrenceville trailhead to display their information and hand out water. For more information or to RSVP, contact the trail coordinator by email or phone - or (434) 447-7101.
