Alberta - Samford Street Housing Project |
Project funds will be utilized to improve the Samford Street community as follows: 1) rehabilitate 12 owner-occupied units, rehabilitation of 10 investor-owned units, and substantial reconstruction of 4 owner-occupied units benefiting a total of 72 low-and moderate-income persons; 2) demolish and clear 2 dilapitated structures; 3)install 1500 linear feet of 5' sidewalks; 4) install 1180 linear feet of curb gutter, re-grading of 2460 linear feet of roadside ditches which will improve storm drainage; and, 5) connect 5 units to public sewer and 1 unit to public water. Project activites will benefit 84 persons, 72 of whom are low-and moderate-income.

This project aims to provide assistance for a number of households that were damaged or destroyed by tornadoes in April of 2008. Twenty low-and-moderate income persons will benefit from the project.

Chase City - West Fifth Street Housing Rehabilitation Project |
Project activities include rehabilitation of 10 owner-occupied & 3 investor-owned housing units, substantial reconstruction of 5 owner-occupied units, and demolition of 2 vacant structures. The project also includes repair and replacement of sidewalks and curbing as well as clean-up of debris and trash.

Chase City - West Fourth Street Community Improvement Project |
Rehabilitation of 14 owner-occupied (9 rehabilitations, 5 substantial reconstructions), & 7 investor-owned units. Project also includes demolition of 2 vacant units and the installation and replacment of water lines, sewer lines, and storm water structures.

Clarksville Southwest Downtown Community Improvement Project |
Housing rehabilitation in the Market, Carolina, Seventh, Eighth, and Nineth Street area of Clarksville. Project funds will be utilized to rehab 5 owner-occupied units and 8 renter-occupied units benefitting 35 LMI persons. Project funds will also be used to demolish two abandoned structures, replace 1990 linear feet of sewer line, repair sidewalks, install curb and gutter, and install storm sewer.

Halifax County Needs Assessment |
Project to identify potential CDBG eligible housing projects in Halifax County and prepare a Strategic Housing Study. Staff used GIS data and local knowledge to identify areas of housing need, and visited many areas to obtain housing inventory and collect GPS data for analysis and inclusion in the Study. |
